Labrador tea that is just about to bloom can apparently be bright pink, in full bloom they are white. I personally think Lebrador tea is smelly. They have a strong, very sweet and sickly scent. They say that you can use them as mosquito repellent, but I think the mosquitoes would rather sting me than walk around with the smell of Labrador tea on me.
A memory emerges from a day when I, my sister, our children and our parents went on a boat trip to an small island, Järvön. During the day we took a walk across the island in trackless terrain and on the way back we ended up on a wet area, a small mire, with lots of flowering Labrador tea. Before we had come across the area, I was nauseous from the smell.
